Canine Ambassador

Canine Ambassadors are volunteers from AKC-affiliated clubs that visit classrooms, community organizations and youth organizations, such as 4H groups and Boy and Girl Scout troops, (usually with their dog) to make presentations about purebred dogs, responsible dog ownership and safety around dogs.

A club may sign up as many Canine Ambassadors as it chooses. Sign-up forms can be downloaded from AKC’s web site. However, since they require the signature of a club officer, forms cannot be electronically transmitted.

AKC provides suggestions on how to get started, a list of materials you can order (most are free) and DVDs that you can take to schools.
